inspired by one of the scenes in Notre Dame de Paris (gorgeous play)
Basically the scene taking place here is Clopin (Esmeralda's adoptive older brother/father) takes her aside in the Court of miracles and tells her "You are grown up and beautiful now. Nothing will be the same. Men will look on you with longing, but men are wicked. Be careful of them."
That's paraphrased but its basically saying that he's not going to be able to look after her like before, she is going to have to experience love on her own and she should guard herself against being taken advantage of or attacked in the street from now on.
Throughout the course of the story, nearly every male person falls in love with her, she gets nabbed in the street a couple times, stalked, framed for a crime, lusted after by her captors, and ... well I won't spoil it for you but the ending's not the same as the cartoon movie that these character designs came from. (and Clopin has to save her and pays for it. That's what you get for even being acquainted with this girl, she's a jinx)
I love this musical so much. I'm looking for the more disney-ified german ost, but my torrent's not working. Darn.

Hm, I once read an adaptation of Victor Hugo's story, so I know how it ends, but I can't remember Clopin. His role in the Disney movie always confused me. I like that you combined different versions of the characters and story here.
