Animated Movie Review 2: Raggedy Ann...

Now here's a film straight out of my childhood, my family used to taped; but it kind of got tapped over and losted over the years. Now I was fortunate to watch the whole film on youtube.com. I had love this wonderful film when I watched it as kid, and after watching again (online), I still do today. My favorite song from the movie is "Candy Hearts and Paper Flowers," I will always remember that sweet song forever.

I was surprised when I looked at the opening credits (on who animated who), that I found that some of the animators date back from the 1930s - WOW! That's like 47 years.

For those who didn't want to watch (just play the song) I love this doll because his singing voice is divine. If this guy had a CD I'd get it so fast... when I was little his voice made me all warm inside. I watched the Musical Adventure movie over and over again and I still plug it in every so often when I'm feeling sentimental.

Andy as a character is the older brother I never had. He's jealous and protective of his sister Ann along with being responsible and clever. He's very adult for a little kid movie. Other incarnations of him have been less of this... more rambunctious and childlike, which is appropriate, but I love the mature and reliable version best

In my opinion, Andy is the best character in the whole movie. He's my favorite of them all, and the only real reason I watch the movie more then once.

Love the design you gave for his new heartblade too.

Gah, that movie!

I recently watched it because my mom just found the DVD and, even though I'm a teenager, I loved it. Andy immediately became my favorite character, he's just so...Andy! I agree about the CD, his voice is amazing. No Girl's Toy was probably my favorite song.

The drawing is absolutely amazing, it captures Andy really well. His facial expression and pose is just like him. Great job!

You were absolutely right about his voice, I was like OMG when I heard it. But it bothered me that they sing this song which sound like a romance balad, while they're just siblings. Butstill, sweet moment it is.

Oh Raggedy Andy. He is such a fun character, and I love his singing voice.

I really like Andy's face in this piece, especially his tongue sticking out the side of his mouth. Very cute.
