I've Got Your Back

Jame gets ready for bed, feels creative and is tired of staring at a computer screen. Nearby is a mechanical pencil. She takes up an eraser and begins.

I stand firm on my take on this argument. The Master Chief and Gordon Freeman would never fight each other. I think they're both smart enough to see that they are on the same side and join forces against the powers of evil. They would make one killer team.

Notice, folks, that the Chief is the one holding the crowbar and Freeman is using a Covenant plasma pistol. I wanted to give him something iconic of the Chief's, but I had no references for assault rifles, and the pistol looks the same in either game. Plus I wanted another light source in the corner... since the Chief's got the primary light source in his hand in the form of a sticky grenade. Honestly, the light is a little multidirectional anyway.

This was all done in graphite pencil, but I have to admit that I added to it in photoshop to bring up the contrast. Honestly, I was just attribute layering to fix what the scanner broke The original is much grayer and more muted, but I like it this way too. If anyone cares, I can upload the original in scraps with a soft filter on it to bring it back down to not-crappy scanner level. I don't think a soul out there cares that much though, and I can look at it whenever I want.
