Steve Irwin by jameson9101322 Steve Irwin by jameson9101322
First Prize for :iconatrixfromice:

Atrix won my coloring contest in first place and she asked for a portrait of the man she considers her special mentor, a teacher who lived a life prizing the lives of animals and the protection of nature above all else. He was a great conservationist and loving father. I was more than happy to draw this picture of him for her and add my own heartfelt sympathies because I miss him too. He was a really inspiring person.

Thanks so, SO much my friend, for this awesome pic!! I love the fact all your pics are always full of beauty and feeling!!! :aww: :huggle: thanks so much for the chance to see how you draw Steve! I loved a lot how this came out, it came out as great as I was thinking! Or even more! :excited: You draw him way better than I do! :wow: When you draw him he looks like him and you can tell it's him when you see this pic. I specially love how you made his hair and the tones of yellow you added to it! A funny thing is I always loved his hair this way, it was so gorgeous when the curls of his hair were like in this pic, that when I watched his show and he had his hair like this I wanted to caress his hair! :aww: :giggle: I always wanted to touch his hair, it looked so smooth and shiny!
I thank you a lot for this and for your comments about him! it makes me feel relief and comfort in my heart to know that my best friend and sidekick, my closest friend and now new mentor, also knew him and I watched his show and admired and love him like I do! <3 My dear old mentor was very much like you, specially in the way they both have (well, he had) an truly compassionate, warm, and caring soul! And I know I'm so lucky to have you as my dear friend and Mentor my dear!! :huggle: cos with him I never had any chance to be friends....it's like if God gave me another chance to have a Mentor who can be my friend too! :excited: Someone to talk with and whom I can trust to give all my being!!! :glomp: The only two persons I've met who are trustworthy enough to pour your heart on them, was him, and you! Having you here I don't feel as bad for loosing him as I was before :)
A while ago I wanted to watch something of him, and I watched a clip of an interview where that he wanted to show people nature's beauty cos he wanted them to love it, and so they can saved it! He used to say that, and he was SO right! People saves and protect what they love! And I always shared that philosophy with him! So even if many people called him crazy and reckless for being so close to animals (and even being bitten and stung in several times due that) I understand WHY he usually tended to put himself so close to wildlife, cos he wanted people to see nature as close as they could, and the closest way that us the common people ( with no sourse to travel to see wildlife) had (and have!) was seeing him being out there an travel with him in our souls, and so to share his passion and love, to share his prespective of the natural wonders with him! Throught his eyes!! he wanted everybody to see the things throught his eyes, even the people who doesn't not like some animals or don't care about them, and he did it!...He did it with me!! Because everytime I watched him in his show I traveled with my imagination and I felt I was there..feeling the same ardent love, enthusiasm an passion that he felt!....I'd really have been loved to be there with him at those moments, though....or to work with him in his Zoo...I always dreamed to be a partner in his show when I was a kid *sigh*....
He always said he wanted to be remembered for his enthusiasm and passion, and that's what I remember most of him!! He was the most enthusiastic, loving, jolly, warm and full of life person that I've met!! :wow: just like the icon of the true hero for me! He was the person I always aspired to be...he always had an unusual spiritual energy! He was like a sun that irradiated so much warmth and life!..And with his apparently infinite and beautiful energy and his glowing soul, he made me feel that to live in this world was worth, even if there's so much disasters and bad people out there...He made me feel that I was worth! He made me felt I had a mission in this world...a purpose!....And you with your beautiful soul, you MAKE ME FEEL this way too!! :huggle: You make me feel I worth!! That I can fullfill my purpose on life! My dream to bring the world something positive and happy, to help the others! That's why you became my new Mentor! And you always will be my mentor and most dearest friend, and a part of myself :huggle:

I feel like I drew this drawing for you so so long ago, I'm glad you're still enjoying it.

Poor Steve and his poor family. I'm glad they're still doing well without him, he'd be at peace knowing he left them a legacy they can survive off and build from

Mmmmmmmmm maybee...sorry ...
that's what a friend of mine said when I suggested her to do that...now I agree. But he was a very sensual man, and we both loved him...A part of me wish one of his fans had done that when he was alive, it would have been great!!! Although my friend says when he was alive it couldn't be either, you know, his wife...

Damn, never thought i could miss someone so much as my grandmother.
He was my childhood hero and his bravery, as well as his compassion just really inspired me.
When i first heard he died i could not believe it till i actually saw the memorial commercials being played all over Animal Planet. R.I.P Steve may your legacy live in all those who wish to change the world for the better.

Peace be with Steve Irwin and his family, we all miss him.
When I was younger I used to love watching his shows, they were waaaay more exciting than people like David Attenbrough (No offence to fans of him). I think maybe it was just his luck to be killed by the stingray. RIP Steve Irwin, he was a great man.

I always admired Steve Irwin and always dreamed of going to his zoo in Australia in hopes of meeting him and telling him thank you. When he died I cried, and for a short while my heart felt truly broken. Shortly after his death there was a magazine that was an obvious cropped a photo of his wife and his daughter, they had cropped their heads onto a woman and child in "glamor" clothing, with diamonds and everything making them look "elegant" with a title along the lines of "wife spends Irwin's riches" or something like that. I think it was National Inquirer, and I was young at the time and was furious that they did that. I believe I actually wrote them a letter saying how rude, condescending, and insulting that was to his family.

Now I know of course that the National Inquirer is a joke magazine, I didn't at the time seeing as I was young. However a parody magazine it maybe, I still find that insulting.

Your artwork of Steve Irwin is truly beautiful and if he were alive to see it today I think he would've said "Crikey that's some good artwork there mate"

Manta Ray uses Poison Sting on Steve Irwin!

...It's SUPER affective!

*Head desk* But seriously, this guy has been tackling crocodiles and giant snakes all his life only to be killed by a ray... I had a hard time believing how this guy got unlucky. RIP buddy. We all miss ya.

Take the ray on land, it dies. Rip sting of ray's tal and let ray go, with sting still in heart, ray gets eaten by shark.

It's just a ray, it can be used a carpet for all I care. This guy had a family, a ray ain't worth that.

Either way, one the darts get trough, whether it stays in or not, the venom spreads. He would've died anyway. It wasn't his fault.

I just figure that Steve was too accomplished with animals, if nature wanted to take him out it had to be when he had his guard down - like swimming with supposedly harmless stingrays - and by freak accent so that he'd never expect it.
