We sell eggs like that at my shop x33

Now watch me try to figure out what it is and fail.

...Looks like septarian to me? XD Although it doesn't have enough of that black veining in it, maybe. Unless it's septarian that's not from Utah, that's where we get ours.

I couldn't tell you, it's my grandmothers and I don't think it's moved since I've been born.

It would be by an encyclopaedia-like bible collection, which is right next to a Merriam-Webster dictionary.

It almost looks like the egg is keeping the religious influence away from an unbiased source of information.

My grandparents had a few of those decorative eggs. They always confused me as a kid, because I couldn't figure out what they were for. Took me a long time to figure out that "decoration" was apparently a perfectly acceptable reason to have anything lying around.

Anyway, I like this picture. It has good color and focus, plus brings back memories of childhood. :)

I need to get a stand for my dark brown marble egg. I've had it for YEARS.

Did that stand come with your egg?

I can't honestly tell you, it's actually my grandmother's egg and it's been sitting on that shelf in front of the encyclopedias for as long as I can remember.

...O.O you found a piece of Eden. I will have to sneak into your home, kill all your guards silently, and steal it then rule the world. (Yay for random assassin's creed reference.)
