The Kiss of Death

I took that pic from my Digital Devil Saga meme and fleshed it out into a full-grown painting. For those of you who haven't played the game, I'm not telling you if this is real or symbolic because obvious spoilers. That said, these two have history and that's fact... and they're bloodlusting cannibals, which is also fact.


Anyway for those of you who don't care about spoilers, I was trying to think of the most romantic thing I could for Valentine's day and ashamed to say that this is it. Actually the most romantic thing is that I just saw Tangled the other day and that was such a great mushy romance movie, it got me all wibbly. But I drew this instead because... you know... dying together is also really romantic. I'd give my life for you, and the only way I'll let you die is by my own hand. Considering the property we're dealing with here, it's about as sappy as it gets.

I worked all day on actual work and finally in the evening I had an hour to myself to do something I wanted. I wanted to draw Digital Devil Saga, and my favorite pairing therein; Gale and Angel. Theirs is a very complicated romance - mostly because it existed in a previous life. Angel is not the woman she was, and Gale is not the man she loved, yet that glimmer is still there, the vague shadow of what died so many years ago is dying again now.
