Tank Grown by jameson9101322 Tank Grown by jameson9101322
I am not perfect. I wait...to be released...

The Tank Grown Krogan. He opened the door for us when we were looking for Okeer in Mass Effect 2. I wanted to keep him but he wandered away... off into the wastes... never to be heard from again.

I named him Tango. I love him. I invite you all to adopt him and love him too...

Poor Tango, he's all alone on that planet full of dead Krogan; nameless, faceless. He holds tight to one purpose: defending this ground, but there's no one to defend it from anymore and there's nothing worth protecting. Day and night cycle but nothing really passes. Tango has no one, he is no one...he is nothing.

He stops in his tracks as night cycle comes on, he reaches up and removes his helmet. For the first time he sees the sun pass on his broken world with his own eyes, the place as empty and abandoned as he feels inside. The creeping night cycle steals the warmth from the wreckage and drags him slowly into grief.

~my ballad for Tango

I just met him in the game, and I so badly want to make him a member of the team instead of the other Krogan.

Dx I wanted him too! I wanted to snuggle and hug and nuzzle the big berserker. I even used him as the base for a mass effect text role play, wanted him to get his own story. Yay for not being alone while in thinking he should loved!!! >w< I named him Tank though, born from a tank, built like a tank, my dog's name is Tank, TANK!

I've just seen this and your other Tango pic and I must say I'm so glad I wasn't the only one that wanted to go 'OH YOU POOR BABY ;_;'
Making one of those poor Tank Bred into a character was something I've always wanted to do, but never got around to when making my own Krogan characters, so this was just epic to see.
And whilst I love the subject matter to death the drawing itself is incredible. I know people don't often go 'great anatomy' in comments usually but, well, great anatomy! The Krogan can be such an awkward race proportionally and you did a really good job at it!
Thank you so much for breathing a bit more life into the poor sod <3

Oh believe me, it's my pleasure :) I'm in love with the krogan and Tango was just so cute... its wasn't fair that he vanished - I couldn't even run in circles around him a couple times to say goodbye!

My Shepard canon she still goes back and gets him to work in the cargo bay.

I know D:
Maybe there's an adorable little collection of Tank Bred Krogans still on the planet?
Though I do like the the cargo bay idea. Not entirely sure if Grunt would end up trying to beat Tango into a 'proper' Krogan, or whether he'd be trying to keep the humans away from the naive Krogan so he can grow to be a warrior on his own...

Or maybe I'm sad because I thought HE was Grunt when I first found him ;_;

I wanted Tango as a companion over Okeer and his "perfect killer" as well... Damn scripted plotlines...

My second favorite environment, plot, and potential companion.
My favorite environment is the Krogan homeworld. I'd love a full-fledged game set on that world!

the writer assaultsloth on fanfiction.net imagines that Okeer gave him the name Allele. I am sorry to say that he most likely had a serious genetic defect, and was perhaps doomed to an early death -- at least by Krogen standards.

Aw he was fine! A little touched in the head - perfect for scooting boxes around. I mean he could make complete sentences, that's pretty nifty.

And as for his name.... I severely doubt Okeer bothered naming all his fake krogan. He didn't even bother naming Grunt enough to stick it in his internal monologue. Not to say anything bad abotu assaultsloth, fanfiction allows us to make anything we want. In my universe, he's named Tango... because my Shepard named him Tango ^^

I am glad your Shepard found it so, and furthermore your icon is extremely adorable, hug hug hug.

We could drop him some food, water, and supplies, or we could misdirect his attention and sedate him by stealth and return him to Tuchanka. We could ask the Turians who are posted to the CDEM to detail a ship to take him back, but they would likely say no. I would lean towards the second option -- however, I believe that at home, they might discriminate against him.

Perhaps you will be so kind as to post reviews for my poems about Mass Effect? One of the two poems is even posted to my deviantart account, as well. Thank you!

:( I wanted to keep him with me too! I love Grunt, but this krogan had it worse. As soon as he left the tank he was doomed...Tango is a perfect name for him. I pretend he wondered off and somehow finds a way onto a colony, were he takes up work and proves his usefullness to others.

Wrex, warrior poet and visionary, would allow Tango the right to fight for and bear clan status.
My Shepard would walk him through it.
Needless to say, I initially called Tango, 'Vacuus', which means, 'without'.

Krogan are unduly underestimated. Mordin himself claims this and sees their potential.
Have you sat there and listened to their conversations? Seen how they are? They think, they plan, they cook, they calibrate, they fix, they tame, they nurture, they desire family values, they research, they reason, they helm, they lead, they follow, they have the capacity to show compassion; to write and recite poetry, sing songs. They envision the future and fight for it. They are amazing creatures and Bioware should be proud to know that those creatures continue to awe and inspire. May they n'er relent.

Sorry... that was a tangent.
But yes, all that is what your piece of art brought to my mind. Thank you.

Regards,
-Justin.

hah ^^ Well thank you for that lovely dissertation on the krogan. I wholly agree with it. I always felt they came off as brutes to the rest of the haughtier galaxy because they're culturally immature by comparison. In time there may even been a krogan embassy with an ambassador and everything, but for now they're still trying to play catchup in the galactic rat-race. It's all because of their lassoing into the rachnii wars. All the other species of the galaxy discovered space travel on their own through the development of their race (And all the intellectual, cultural, and social evolution there contained) but the krogan skipped a whole era in technology and have suffered for it, and now the genophage is pushing them back even farther by nearly freezing their cultural development. They're on their way though. Someday we'll see them playing real ball with the rest of the galaxy.

That development will curve upwards exponentially even within the next 100 years of ME's timeline. I will admit that I am not a fan of the Council races. Asari are too pretentious, the Salarians are too weak and the Turians are too proud. Humans appear to be a combination of all races, plus hair.
Mass Effect is a social commentary about showing compassion to the outcasts of society. Hell, even the Batarians deserve some slack. We need them anyways and Shepard's little Samaritan deeds on Omega are an excellent platform for reformation, per se.

Back to Krogans! I seriously think their future hinges not only on Wrex's leadership, but on the player's decision to let Wrex live (big surprise). Under Wreav, the Krogan may unite, but they will be too immature and out of line. They will be sacrificed in ME3, I feel, in the fight against the Reapers.
I can see ME3 being very bloody or slightly bruising.

I need to stop with these tangents!

I enjoy it ^^ I love talking krogan shop.

Wrex is definitely the linchpin of the krogan storyline. He's the big decision in the first game that affects that whole thread of the story. I'd love to see Wreav come back in 3... but I highly suspect a universe without Wrex in it (that is to say one without Shepard knowing the krogan have his/her back no matter what) will see the krogan just fall off the back of the army in 3... same for some of the other groups whose feathers you've ruffled/didn't ruffle correctly.

That was the long way of saying I suspect anyone who didn't play ME1 or let Wrex day will find themselves distinctly kroganless in the final battle.
